WWE has finally removed Goldberg's name from the WWE RAW website. From what we have heard, WWE had hoped to keep the door open for a possible Goldberg return in the future so they left his bio up on the site. There was some speculation as to why Steve Austin's name was removed right away and Goldberg's name still appeared on the website. The difference between the two is that Austin had broken off contract talks with WWE thus not making him a member of the roster anymore. Goldberg has made some very negative remarks towards WWE in the last few weeks since leaving and it appears someone finally realized that there would be no chance in Goldberg coming back anytime soon so the decision was made to remove his name.

We have heard that Vince McMahon and Steve Austin have had talks recently although we have not heard anything about any plans for a return. The working plan with Ted Turner right now is that if he does start a wrestling company next year, Austin and Goldberg would be the top draws. This makes for an interesting situation that will likely pan out throughout the year.

Mordecai has been told that management wants him to focus more on beating wrestlers up and sqashing them, rather than selling for them and having a good match.

When Batista was down in OVW he played a character by the name of "Leviathan" who destroyed everyone in sight. When he got into WWE, he was very inexperienced as far as selling in a regular match goes and many feel that he's finally starting to come around and learn better.

In OVW, Kevin Fertig (Mordecai) used a normal "big-guy" gimmick and went out working hard, trying to put on good matches. He has never worked as a monster before so when he comes in, is given the Mordecai gimmick, and is told to work as a monster, of course there are going to be some problems especially with selling and how the character gets portrayed in the ring.

The idea of giving people their WWE wrestling characters in OVW and getting a year of training with the gimmick is never going to happen in the current system, so there will always be gimmicks that will need work upon coming into the WWE, since most likely they will be fresh for whoever is coming up from OVW with it.

WWE issued the following press release on the business wire today:

World Wresting Entertainment Announces the Search for a New RAW Diva; Winner Receives a One-Year WWE Contract and a Quarter of a Million Dollars

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--05/25/2004--World Wrestling Entertainment(R) is searching for a new WWE(R) Diva, and it might be you!

WWE announced its $250,000 RAW(R) Diva Search last night on Monday Night RAW on Spike TV (9 p.m. ET/PT). The winner receives a one-year WWE contract and $250,000.

"The search is on for the most glamorous, sexy, personable, classy woman in all of the United States and when we find her, that lucky lady will be the next RAW Diva and win a quarter of a million dollars," WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced last night. "Now, who will decide the winner? You will - all of you who watch Monday Night RAW."

The search begins today with potential Divas entering the contest at wwe.com or divasearch.wwe.com. You don't have to aspire to physically wrestle in a WWE ring to win this reality contest! You just need to be beautiful, glamorous, physically fit, talented, charismatic and at least 20 years old and from the continental United States to have a chance to win. Candidates must e-mail their entry and two photographs (head shot & head to toe shot). All entries must be received by midnight (PT) Tuesday, June 8.

As part of the search, WWE will host a series of casting call events in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles where judges will select 10 finalists who best exhibit the qualities of a WWE Diva.

The final 10 contestants will be selected on a live television special on Spike TV on July 15 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

Starting on July 19, the 10 finalists will appear on RAW and perform a special assignment. That night WWE fans will vote to eliminate one contestant. Each week a contestant will be eliminated until only one is left. The new RAW Diva receives a one-year WWE contract and $250,000.

Sean "X-Pac" Waltman, once considered a wrestling prodigy due to his in-ring presence and mind for the business, has been on a downward spiral over the past few years due to nagging injuries and a drug problem. His troubled relationship with Joanie "Chyna" Laurer didn't help the situation.

However, Waltman, finally spoke to some of his old wresting friends at Judgment Day. Despite being in a state of problems with friend Triple H, due to the fact that he was dating HHH's ex-girlfriend, HHH greeted Waltman with a hug and they caught up on a lot backstage at the PPV. It seems that the heat they once had due to Laurer has faded.

There are already rumors going around that WWE is interested in giving Waltman another shot with WWE, although it likely would not be in a full-time wrestling role. WWE has qualms about signing Waltman right now, including his drug problem, baggage, and relationship with Joanie Laurer (which may or may not be over).

Right now, there is huge demand amongst former wrestlers for backstage roles in WWE, but Waltman has "stroke" with decision-makers and backstage influences, including the McMahon family, which may help his case. Either way, nothing has been signed yet, but it's possible Waltman may one day be working with WWE again.

Most signs continue to indicate that Sting is headed to WWE soon. The two sides have talked many times over the years and talks have always broken down over how many dates Sting would have to work. WWE is now on the verge of giving Sting a heavily reduced schedule, something they normally won't even consider for most. Looking as though the interest is definitely there on the WWE side. In the days of "Dead Man" Undertaker and Mordecai, Sting fits the current bill in WWE.

Booker T remains frustrated with his role and push in WWE lately. While he has made it known that he won't wrestle into old age as many others do, he is now telling friends that he will retire sooner than originally planned. That's no secret either, Booker T has made it pretty clear on many occassions that he's going to get out before he gets too banged up and/or old, whichever comes first
